Burner - burner (English spelling)

Burner - burner (English spelling)

A device that blows gas, liquid, or powdered fuel into a combustion device. Small examples of gas burners include household gas stoves and water heaters. Small burners blow fuel gas at high speeds, suck in air to mix it, and blow it out for combustion; they are used when fuel gas is available at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure. Large burners blow out pressurized fuel, and also rapidly mix and burn air sent by a blower; the air flow is designed to ensure a stable mixture of fuel and air and rapid combustion. They also have a flame-holding device to prevent the flame from being extinguished by the high-speed air flow. The Bunsen burner is a typical small burner, and a torch lamp is also a type of burner.
