Nakamura Kaisha
1875-1945 A Kabuki actor from the Meiji to early Showa period.
Born December 21, 1875. A disciple of the first Nakamura Ganjiro. Called Nakamura Naritaro, he made his debut in 1881. In 1914 he changed his name to Kaisha. He played a variety of roles including female roles, leading roles, and elderly roles. His best roles included Koharu in "Kawasho." He passed away March 13, 1945, at the age of 71. He was from Osaka. His real name was Katsura Eitaro. His haiku name was Katsurasou. His stage name was Shinkomaya.

明治8年12月21日生まれ。初代中村鴈治郎(がんじろう)の門弟。中村成太郎(なりたろう)と名のって明治14年初舞台。大正3年魁車と改名。女方,立役(たちやく),老役(ふけやく)などをかねた。当たり役は「河庄」の小春など。昭和20年3月13日死去。71歳。大阪出身。本名は桂栄太郎。俳名は桂荘。屋号は新駒屋。
