Batch processing - Batch processing

A form of computer operation. A job is a set of work that is made possible by attaching instructions in a job control language to data or programs, or both, and processing them on a computer. This is an operation form in which several such jobs are compiled in advance and processed in a way that does not allow users to intervene midway. It is also called batch processing. Batch processing that is performed using an input/output device via a communication line is called remote batch processing. In recent years, it refers to the process of registering environment settings and application execution at startup, or certain processes with set procedures, as a set of procedures using a series of commands in advance and processing them consecutively.

コンピュータの運用形態の一つ。データまたはプログラム、あるいはその双方にジョブ制御言語による指示をつけ、コンピュータで処理をすることができる形にしたひとまとまりの仕事をジョブというが、このジョブをいくつかあらかじめまとめておき、中途では利用者が介入できないような手段でそれらを処理するようにした運用形態。一括処理ともいう。また、通信回線を介した入出力装置を用いて行うバッチ処理をリモートバッチ処理とか遠隔バッチ処理という。近年では、起動時に行う環境設定やアプリケーションの実行、あるいは手順が決まっている一定の処理などを、あらかじめ一連のコマンドを用いてひとまとまりの手順として登録しておき連続して処理することをいう。
