Buckingham Palace - Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace - Buckingham Palace

The palace of the British royal family in Westminster, London. It was originally built by the Duke of Buckingham in 1703 and purchased by George III in 1762. Around 1825, Nash carried out extensive renovations at the behest of George IV, and it has been called Buckingham Palace ever since. It was not until 1837, under the reign of Queen Victoria, that it began to be used exclusively as the London residence of kings and queens. Although the interior is not open to the public, it contains many luxurious rooms, including the 20-meter-long Throne Room. The Changing of the Guard ceremony, which takes place every day at 11:30 a.m., is a London specialty. At the Queen's Gallery on the south side of the palace, you can see art from the royal collection, and at the Royal Mews, you can see the royal horses and carriages.
