Around 1445 - 1517 Italian mathematician of the Renaissance. Born in Borgo San Sepolcro, a small town north of Rome, he studied mathematics while working in commerce. He was a Franciscan friar. As a mathematics teacher, he taught at the courts of Italian cities and at the University of Perugia. He was invited to the court of Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan in 1497, where he met Leonardo da Vinci, and it is well known that they traveled together to Florence in 1499.
