Japanese: キバナノアツモリソウ - きばなのあつもりそう

A perennial plant of the orchid family (APG classification: Orchidaceae). It has a long, horizontal rhizome. The stem is 10-20 cm tall, with two leaves arranged slightly opposite each other. In July, it produces a single flower, about 3 cm in diameter, pale yellow-green with purple-brown markings. It grows rarely in the coniferous zones of Honshu north of the Chubu region and Hokkaido, and is distributed in the Kuril Islands, Kamchatka, and Alaska.

ラン科（APG分類：ラン科）の多年草。根茎は長く横走する。茎は高さ10～20センチメートル、2枚の葉がやや対生状につく。7月ころ径約3センチメートル、淡黄緑色で紫褐色の斑紋(はんもん)のある花を1個開く。中部地方以北の本州、北海道の針葉樹帯にまれに生え、千島、カムチャツカ、アラスカに分布する。
