Born in 1667. One of Tokugawa Ieyasu's close aides. In 1606, he became the magistrate of Nagasaki, and was responsible for cracking down on Christians and managing foreign trade. In 1611, he and Arima Harunobu attacked a Portuguese ship, causing it to self-destruct. In 1616, he also became the magistrate of Sakai. He died on October 26, 1620. He was 51 years old.
