…JR East's commercial line, 75.6 km long, from Morioka Station on the Tohoku Main Line to Omagari Station on the Ou Main Line. It was built as a shortcut between Morioka and Akita, and opened as the Hashiba Line from the Morioka side to Shizukuishi in June 1921, and as the Obonai Line from the Omagari side to Kakunodate in July of the same year (to Obonai in 1923).
