Gear cutting machine - hagiriban

A machine tool that performs gear cutting on various workpieces. Depending on the application and type of cutting tool, they are classified into hobbing machines, gear shaping machines, gear splitting machines, rack gear cutting machines, straight bevel gear cutting machines, spiral bevel gear cutting machines, worm wheel hobbing machines, etc. Among these, hobbing machines are the most widely used gear cutting machines, and can generate and cut the tooth profiles of spur gears, helical gears, and worm wheels using a tool called a hob. Depending on the type of cutting, there are sliding table types and column types, and there are also types in which the hob head or work head can move up and down.

各種の工作物に歯切り加工を施す工作機械。用途と切削用工具の種類に応じて、ホブ盤、歯車形削り盤、歯割り盤、ラック歯切盤、すぐば傘歯車歯切盤、曲がりば傘歯車歯切盤、ウォームホイールホブ盤などに分類される。これらのなかでもホブ盤は歯切盤としてもっとも広く用いられ、ホブとよばれる工具を用いて、平歯車、はすば歯車、およびウォームホイールの歯形を創成歯切りすることができる。切り込みを与える形式によって、テーブル移動形とコラム形とがあり、さらにホブヘッドまたはワークヘッドが上下に移動できる形式がある。
