Lord of Tobiyama Castle in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture). Senior vassal of Utsunomiya Ujitsuna. During the Kanno Disturbance, he sided with Ashikaga Takauji along with Ujitsuna. After the rebellion, his son Takaie and adopted son Takasada served as deputy shugo for Ujitsuna, who became the shugo of Kozuke and Echigo. An image of him remains at his family temple, Kaicho-ji Temple (Mooka City, Tochigi Prefecture). He died in the 5th year of Oan (1270), or the first year of Bunchu.
