Pilot plant
A device of intermediate size between a small experimental device and a factory production plant. It is used for the industrialization of new production methods, to verify changes in operating conditions, safety, product quality, etc. due to the larger size of the device, and to obtain data necessary for the design and operation of the production plant. It is widely used in the chemical industry, etc., and after the production plant is up and running, it can be used as a model device to quickly and cheaply carry out product prototyping and research.
