Its abbreviation is Mus. It is a small southern constellation adjacent to Crux Austrinus. It was called Apis the Bee by J. Bayer long ago, but was renamed to Mus by French astronomer NL Lacaille. Its approximate position is 12h30m in right ascension and -70° in declination. It reaches its highest point in the sky at 8pm in late May, but it cannot be seen from Japan.
