This refers to a gas turbine that runs on the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine, and a steam turbine that generates power using low-pressure steam discharged from a steam engine or factory. In the former, an exhaust turbine is attached to the engine exhaust pipe, and this power drives a compressor attached to the intake pipe, supercharging the engine with pressurized air. 内燃機関の排気を利用して作動するガスタービンや，蒸気機関や工場などから排出される低圧蒸気を利用して動力を発生させる蒸気タービンをいう。前者では，機関排気管に排気タービンを取付け，この動力により吸気管に取付けられた圧縮機を駆動し機関に加圧空気の過給を行う。
