...Famous examples include the Ryabinins on Kizhi Island on Lake Onega, who produced four generations of first-class storytellers, and the Kryukovs on the White Sea, in which both mother and daughter were celebrated as masters. Their daughter, Marfa Kryukova (1876-1954), was accepted as a member of the Union of Soviet Writers after the Russian Revolution. Marfa created the novel Byrina, which featured Lenin and the Civil War hero Chapaev as protagonists, but it did not gain widespread popularity.
