A treatise on haiku. Starting with the letter sent by Kyorai to Kikaku in leap February, 1697 (Genroku 10), this is a collection of letters exchanged between Kiyoriku and Kyorai over the following year. It consists of "A Letter from Jinshi Kikaku," "A Letter from Rakushisha Kyorai," "Answering the Difficult Questions of Kyoko," "Presenting Professor Rakushisha Again," "A Treatise on Self-Praise of Haiku," "A Treatise on Self-Realization of Inventions," and "Review of Fellow Students." Kyorai's argument is centered on the theory of "unchanging and popular," while Kyorai's is centered on the theory of "bloodline," making this a treatise on haiku in the style of Sho. It was published in 1785 (Tenmei 5) by Kokosha Yoshimaro as "Haikai Mondo Aonega Mine," and reprinted in 1800 (Kansei 12) under the title "Haikai Mondo."
