Avatara (English spelling)

Japanese: アバターラ（英語表記）avatāra

In Sanskrit, it means incarnation, avatar, or descent. God appears in this world many times to save the world. In the history of Indian thought, this idea originated from the identification of a major god with many other gods. It is particularly prominent in the Vishnu faith, where Vishnu, who has great mercy, is believed to have descended to this world in ten important forms, usually fish, turtle, boar, man-lion, dwarf, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki, in order to destroy evil people and save good people.
