Chan Chan (English spelling)

...Chan Chan, a culture centered on the city of Trujillo on the northern coast of Peru. Just before it was conquered by the Inca Empire (1400s), it controlled about 1,200 km of coastal land from Tumbes in the north to the vicinity of present-day Lima in the south, and had several regional political centers in the Lambayeque and Pacasmayo valleys, and formed the vast kingdom of Chimú in the south, which included the culture-different Chancay.
