"Inabado Engi" - Inabado Engi

…It belongs to Takakusa County, Inaba Province (Tottori Prefecture), and is a port at the mouth of the Chiyo River. The Sandai Jitsuroku records that in 861 (Jogan 3), the god of Karyu was given the rank of Junior Fifth Rank, and according to the Inabado Engi, in 997 (Choutoku 3), a statue of Yakushi Nyorai was caught in a fishing net off the coast of Karyu, pulled out of the sea, and enshrined by Inaba no Kami Tachibana Yukihira. In the Middle Ages, it was the outer port of the castle town of Tenjinyama Castle, the shugosho of the Inaba no Kami Yamana clan, and its outpost, Hisamatsuyama Castle in Tottori. …
