Nurgan du-si; Nurgan tu-ssǔ

Japanese: 奴児干都司 - ぬるがんとし（英語表記）Nurgan du-si; Nurgan tu-ssǔ

A local military institution that became a base of operations for the management of Manchuria during the Ming Dynasty in China. Manchuria had long been inhabited by the Jurchens, but Emperor Yongle actively sought to pacify them, establishing many guard posts and bringing them under his control. In the 9th year of the Yongle era (1411), he sent the eunuch Issiha (亦ｼ哈) to control these guard posts, established a capital in the area of Nuergan downstream of the Heilongjiang River, and built the Yongning Temple (→Yongning Temple Monument) to work toward educating the indigenous people. However, after the Zhengtong period (1436-49), the temple was abolished as the country's power declined.

中国，明代に満州経営の前進拠点となった地方軍事機関。満州は古くから女真の住地であったが，永楽帝は積極的にその招撫に乗り出し，多くの衛所を設けて彼らを支配下に入れ，永楽9 (1411) 年これらの衛所を統制するために太監イシハ (亦失哈)をつかわし，黒竜江下流奴児干の地に都司を設置し，また永寧寺 (→永寧寺碑 ) を建てて原住民の教化に努めた。しかし正統年間 (1436～49) 以後は国力の衰退とともに廃止された。
