Clement [VII] - Clement
Pope of the Roman Empire (reigned 1523-1534). Born into the Medici family. He was an incompetent politician, leading to the defection of King Henry VIII of England and being at the mercy of the conflict between Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and King Francis I of France, but he loved the arts and sciences and is known as the patron of Michelangelo.
