Numata [town] - Numata
A town in Uryu County, Hokkaido. It occupies the southern part of the Rumoi Mountains, and the southern part forms part of the Ishikari Plain, a grain-producing region. The Rumoi Main Line runs through the town. It produces rice, melons, and cabbage, and also cultivates flowers. It was first settled in 1894 by Numata Kisaburo from Toyama Prefecture. 283.35 km2 . 3,612 people (2010).

北海道雨竜(うりゅう)郡の町。留萌(るもい)山地の南部を占め，南部は石狩平野の一角を形成し，穀倉地帯。留萌本線が通じる。米，メロン，キャベツを産し花卉(かき)栽培を行う。1894年富山県の沼田喜三郎が初めて入植した。283.35km2。3612人（2010）。
