A town in Uryu County, Hokkaido. It occupies the southern part of the Rumoi Mountains, and the southern part forms part of the Ishikari Plain, a grain-producing region. The Rumoi Main Line runs through the town. It produces rice, melons, and cabbage, and also cultivates flowers.
