Born: October 19, 1812, Milan [Died] April 10, 1886. Rome. Italian physician and politician. From 1848, he devoted himself to the Italian independence movement, fighting alongside G. Garibaldi and G. Mazzini, and supporting their activities as a military doctor. In 1861, he joined the new Italian parliament, becoming a leader of the far-left wing, and in 1866 he founded the newspaper "La Riforma", which advocated social reform.
