...Of the many attempts to succeed Diaghilev, this ballet company was the most successful. The reason for this was that Sergei Grigoriev (1883-1968), one of the supporters of Diaghilev's ballet company, was appointed as stage director, and he maintained the standard of the programs and improved the quality of the troupe by recruiting other leading dancers, A. Danilova, Chernyshova, and Boyzhikovsky. Also, for the first time in history, he selected three dancers in their early teens or similar, T. Tumanova, Baronova, and Ryabushinska, as baby ballerinas to play leading roles, which made them very popular.
