Japanese: 糠部 - ぬかのぶ

This is the name of a county that was used from the late Heian period in the northernmost part of Honshu, where the ancient Ritsuryo government did not control. It corresponds to the current northern part of Iwate Prefecture and the eastern half of Aomori Prefecture. Nine households (bu), from Ichinohe to Kunohe, were set up as administrative units within the county, and these names have survived to later generations. It is said that the main duty of each household's lord was to pay tribute to horses. There was also a four-gate administrative division system of Higashikado, Nishimon, Nanmon, and Kitamon, but the relationship with the Kunohe system is unclear. During the Kamakura period, the Hojo clan became land stewards of Nukabe County, and each household was assigned a vassal as a land steward. After the Nanboku-cho period, it became the territory of the Nanbu clan, and the name of the county disappeared in the early modern period.

古代律令政府の支配が及ばなかった本州最北部に，平安時代後期ごろから使われた郡名。現岩手県北部から青森県東半部にあたる。郡内には一戸(いちのへ)〜九戸(くのへ)の九つの戸（部）が行政単位として設定され，後世地名として遺存した。各戸の領知者の主要任務は貢馬にあったといわれる。また東門(ひがしかど)・西門・南門・北門の四門制という行政区画制度も布かれていたが，九戸制との関係は不明。鎌倉時代に北条氏が糠部郡地頭となり，各戸には家臣を地頭代として配置。南北朝期以後は南部(なんぶ)氏所領となり，近世に郡名は消滅。
