Display device

Japanese: ディスプレーデバイス（英語表記）display device

A general term for devices (elements, functional parts) that have the function of displaying (displaying) letters, numbers, figures, images, etc. Display devices are widely used, including familiar ones such as the number display panels on watches and calculators, the picture tubes of home televisions, and cathode ray tubes such as the display tubes used in computer data display devices. Display generally refers to the display of goods or works of art, but in the fields of information science and electronics, it means showing and conveying specific information to humans.

文字，数字や図形，画像などを表示(ディスプレー)する働きをもつデバイス(素子，機能部品)の総称。ウォッチや電卓の数字表示板，家庭用テレビの受像管やコンピューターのデータ表示装置に用いられるディスプレー管などの陰極線管などなじみ深いものをはじめ広く使用されている。　ディスプレーとは，一般には品物や美術品などを展示することであるが，情報科学や電子工学の分野では人間に特定の情報を表示，伝達することを意味している。
