Nyoirin Kannon - Nyoirin Kannon

Japanese: 如意輪観音 - にょいりんかんのん
Nyoirin Kannon - Nyoirin Kannon

One of the Kannon Bodhisattvas. Its Sanskrit name is Cintāmai-cakra, and it holds a wish-granting jewel in its hand that can produce treasures at will, and is known as Nyoirin Kannon because it fulfills the wishes of all people. In the world, it is said that it enriches people with treasures, increases their stock of good fortune, virtue, and wisdom, and saves all suffering beings. Statues are made with six arms and a jewel placed on top of the head. There are rare statues with two arms, such as the one at Chuguji Temple. Usually, the right hand is tilted to support the cheek, expressing the emotion of compassion, and the left hand makes the mudra of offering prayers. The seated statue at Kanshinji Temple is famous.
