This is the major work of Gu Yanwu, a thinker from the early Qing Dynasty in China, and is a book that empirically discusses various academic, political and social issues. It consists of 32 volumes. It selects fundamental academic and important political and social issues, and sets out topics that have not yet been discussed by ancient people and will be of benefit to future generations, and determines the length of each text according to the importance of the subject. This book, which was written over the course of more than 30 years, was based on deep scholarship and was written from an empirical and practical perspective for the sake of economics and governance. It is a typical example of Chinese narrative style and is considered to represent the highest level of Qing Dynasty scholarship.
