It is translated as "snob" and usually means a person who is pretentious, follows the trends, or pretends to know things, but it cannot be completely defined. It can be said to be a person who at least feels superior to the masses and uses that feeling of superiority as a bond to form groups with people of the same kind, or who wants to form groups. The word snob is an English slang term from the late 18th century, but people with this mentality (called snobbism) can be found as a social phenomenon in every era and society. Especially since the 19th century, they have appeared in social gatherings and among the upper classes, and have been described in literary works by WM Thackeray and M. Proust. Snobs are also people who shape the trends and tastes of the times before the masses. When Marxists use this word, they refer to people who distort principles in order to be popular, as well as bourgeois and petit bourgeois.
