A former town in Taki District, located in the northwest of the Sasayama Basin in eastern Hyogo Prefecture. Most of the area is mountainous, and the towns are famous for Tanba chestnuts, Chinese yams, and Kawakita black soybeans. They also grow rice. In April 1999, the towns of Sasayama, Tannan, and Konda in Taki District merged to form Sasayama City. Area: 54.42 km2 . Population: 4,125 (1995).
