A Vaishnavite saint active in the Tamil region of medieval South India. Dates of birth and death unknown. He lived between the late 9th century and the early 10th century. He is considered the founder of the Sri Vaishnava sect of South Indian Vaishnavism. Also known as Śathakopa. He wrote three religious poems, including "The Thiruva Newt," all of which are included in the Vaishnavite holy book, "Nārāyilādīvyaprabhadam (Collection of Four Thousand Odes)." 中世南インドのタミル地方で活躍したビシュヌ教の聖者。生没年不詳。9世紀後半~10世紀前半の人。南インドのビシュヌ教団シュリーバイシュナバ派の開祖とされる。別名シャタコーパŚathakopa。《ティルバーイモリ》ほか3編の宗教詩があり,これらはすべてビシュヌ教の聖典《ナーラーイラディブヤプラバンダム(四千頌歌集)》に収められている。彼の作品は哲学的傾向が強く,のちのビシュヌ教神学に大きな影響を与えた。
