A snail of the family Slugidae (illustration). The shell has degenerated and is missing. It is 6 cm long and 1 cm wide, slender, with a mesh-like wrinkled surface and moist mucus. It is light brown to bluish brown with black spots. There is a thin black-brown band on both sides of the body from the front to the back end, but sometimes there are three bands in the middle. There are two pairs of antennae on the head, and the eyes are located at the tips of the rear antennae. There is also a round stomata behind the right antenna, which opens and closes to breathe. The soles of the feet are flat and yellowish white. It crawls around in hot and humid conditions, but is particularly active at night, feeding on vegetable and flower seedlings.
