Aokata Documents - Aokata Monjo

These are documents of the Aokata clan, vassals of the Kamakura period, whose base was Aokata, Nakadorijima, Uno, Hizen Province (Shinkamigoto Town, Minamimatsuura County, Nagasaki Prefecture). Over 400 documents remain, dating from the early Kamakura period to the early modern period. They were handed down to the Aokata family, vassals of the Goto Domain (Fukue Domain), but are now in the possession of the Nagasaki Prefectural Library. Not only are they the most excellent historical documents related to the Matsuura Party in terms of both quality and quantity, but they are also rich in content as historical documents related to medieval fishing. They are particularly well known for including letters of consent to a kokujin ikki keidaku (a pledge to organize a local uprising) from the Nanboku-cho period. The Aokata family owns two family genealogies created at the end of the Edo period, but the originals of some of the documents cited in them have already been lost. It has been published as "Anthology of Historical Materials: Aokata Documents 1 and 2" (1976, Zoku Gunsho Ruiju Kanseikai).

肥前(ひぜん)国宇野御厨中通島(うののみくりやなかどおりじま)青方（長崎県南松浦(みなみまつうら)郡新上五島(しんかみごとう)町）を本拠とした鎌倉御家人(ごけにん)青方氏の文書。鎌倉時代初頭より近世初頭に及ぶ四百数十通が残存している。五島藩（福江藩）の家臣青方家に伝来していたが、現在は長崎県立図書館に所蔵。松浦(まつら)党関係文書として質量ともにもっとも優れた史料であるばかりでなく、中世漁業関係史料としても内容に富んだ史料である。とくに南北朝時代の国人一揆契諾(こくじんいっきけいだく)状が含まれていることで著名。青方家には、幕末に作成された家譜(かふ)2冊が所蔵されているが、そのなかの引用文書には、すでに原本が失われているものがある。『史料纂集(さんしゅう)　青方文書1、2』（1976・続群書類従完成会）として刊行されている。
