Snowdon
British politician. Known as a Labour Party expert on finance, he was Chancellor of the Exchequer in the first and second MacDonald governments. In 1931, he carried out the withdrawal from the pension standard system. In 1932, while Chancellor of the Exchequer in the National Unity government, he resigned in opposition to the adoption of protectionist trade policies.
