A town in Aki District, eastern Kochi Prefecture, overlooking Tosa Bay. Rice and greenhouse horticulture are practiced. The main settlement is on the left bank of the mouth of the Nahari River, and is a timber distribution center and shipping port for the Yanase National Forest upstream, with a lumber yard and sawmill.
