Nabataean Kingdom

Japanese: ナバテア王国 - ナバテアおうこく
Nabataean Kingdom
The kingdom of the Nabataeans (Greek: Nabataioi, Aramaic: Nabatu) was established in what is now western Jordan in the first half of the 2nd century BC with Petra as its capital. In 63 BC it became a vassal of Rome but maintained its independence, and was finally conquered by Rome in 106 AD under Rabel II, when it was annexed to the Roman Province of Arabia. The Nabataeans were a branch of nomadic Arabs originating from northern Arabia, but when they formed their kingdom they adopted Aramaic civilization (writing, caravan organization) and Greek civilization (urban life, Greek language).
