Japanese: 奈義[町] - なぎ

A town in Katsuta County in the northeastern part of Okayama Prefecture. It occupies part of the Tsuyama Basin and the northern mountain range, and its main settlement is Toyosawa. In addition to rice and wheat, the town cultivates vegetables, fruit trees, and tobacco, and raises dairy cows. Attempts at sericulture and livestock farming have been made in the Nihonhara wilderness at the southern foot of Mount Nagi since the early Meiji period, but these efforts failed due to poor water supplies. In recent years, an industrial complex has been developed, and semiconductor and other factories have been established here. The town is hit by a local wind called Hirotokaze. There is a ginkgo tree (a natural monument) at the family temple. Area: 69.52 ^km2 . Population: 6,085 (2010).
