An old town in Onsen County, northwest of Ehime Prefecture. It occupies the Kutsuna Islands, which are made up of the islands of Muzuki, Nogutsuna, Nuwa, Tsuwaji, Futagami, and Yuri, with Nakajima at the center. The main settlement is Oura on Nakajima, and ships can reach the area from Takahama Port in Matsuyama City. Citrus cultivation is thriving. It belongs to the Setonaikai National Park. It was incorporated into Hojo City and Matsuyama City in January 2005. 37.24 km2 . 6,481 people (2003).

Nakajima [town] [Nakajima]

A former town in Kashima County in northern Ishikawa Prefecture. It occupies the hilly area of ​​the Noto Peninsula facing Nanao Bay, and is served by the Noto Railway. Its main industries are agriculture and forestry, with textile manufacturing also taking place. Its fishing industry is also thriving, with oyster farming. In October 2004, it merged with Nanao City, Tatsuruhama Town in Kashima County, and Notojima Town to form Nanao City. 98.52 km2 . Population 7,694 (2003).
