Ayasugi (woven fabric)

Ayasugi (woven fabric)

...A type of twill woolen fabric, so named because of the pattern that resembles herringbone rows. In Japan, it is also called "Sugiaya" or "Ayasugi". The basic herringbone pattern is a continuous combination of 2/2 twills in a mountain (or V) shape, but there are many other variations and patterns that combine stripes and checks.
