Japanese: 長崎高綱 - ながさき・たかつな
Nagasaki Takatsuna
Year of death: 2nd year of Shokei/3rd year of Genkō (1333.7.4)
Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A vassal of Tokuso in the late Kamakura period. His father was Mitsutsuna. He was Saburozaemon-no-jo. His posthumous Buddhist name was Enki. He served as Nai Kanrei from 1305, when Hojo Munekata was killed, until 1317, and was a magistrate of the Yoriai in 1309. In 1309, a lawsuit was filed by Rokuhara for the position of Zosho (miscellaneous servant) of Taranosho in Wakasa Province. He became a monk before 1309. He was a key figure in the resignation of regent Hojo Mototoki and the inauguration of Hojo Takatoki as regent, and together with his sons Takasuke and Adachi Tokiaki, he was at the center of Takatoki's Yoriai and was in a position to make decisions on the affairs of the Kamakura Shogunate. In his later years, petitions to Kanazawa Sadaaki and others were first submitted to Takatsuna, who then notified his son Takasuke and went on to grant permission, thus influencing the administration of the Shogunate. When the Shogunate fell, he committed suicide at Tosho-ji Temple. <References> Shinichi Sato, "On the Despotism of the Kamakura Shogunate" (Collection of Essays on Japanese Medieval History), Midori Tachibana, "The Nagasaki Clan and Nikaido Doun" (Appreciation of Japanese Classical Literature No. 21), Shigeo Hosokawa, "A Basic Study of the Inner Kanrei Nagasaki Clan" (Japanese History No. 479)
