Japanese: 呑海 - どんかい

1265－1327 A monk from the Kamakura period.
Born in Bun'ei 2. Younger brother of Matano Kagehira, the local lord of Sagami (Kanagawa Prefecture). He studied under Shinkyo, the second head priest of Jishu Yugyo Shonin, and founded Konko-ji Temple in Shichijo, Kyoto in 1666. In Bunpo 3, he succeeded Chitoku as the fourth head priest of Yugyo Shonin. He was in conflict with Shinko (the Taima sect), and founded Shojoko-ji Temple (Yugyo-ji Temple) in Fujisawa, Sagami, and made it the base of the Yugyo sect. He passed away on February 18, 1672, at the age of 63. His pen names were Ari'a and Ta'a. His Buddhist name was also Keiei. His work includes "The Words of the Fourth Shonin."

文永2年生まれ。相模(さがみ)(神奈川県)の地頭俣野景平(またの-かげひら)の弟。時宗遊行上人(ゆぎょうしょうにん)2世真教(しんきょう)にまなび,正安(しょうあん)3年京都七条に金光寺を創建。文保(ぶんぽ)3年智得(ちとく)の跡をつぎ遊行上人4世となる。真光(当麻(たいま)派)と対立し,相模藤沢に清浄光寺(しょうじょうこうじ)(遊行寺)をひらき,遊行派の拠点とした。嘉暦(かりゃく)2年2月18日死去。63歳。号は有阿,他阿。法名は別に恵永。著作に「四代上人法語」。
