Also called Nakagawa Gosekisho. A guard post established by the Edo Shogunate at the entrance to the Nakagawa River in Musashi Province (the entrance to the Onagi River). It was originally located on the banks of the Mannen Bridge in Fukagawa, and in September 1647, Mizuno Tadayasu was ordered to renumber the ships in Fukagawa. In June 1661, it was moved to the entrance of the Nakagawa River, and the ships traveling between Edo and Gyotoku were inspected. According to the Reijoki, after June 1676, it was stipulated that (1) nighttime sailings from Edo were prohibited, (2) all women must carry a certificate, and (3) caution should be exercised regarding the traffic of firearms and other weapons.
