An extinct zebra (illustration) with no stripes on its hindquarters. A mammal of the odd-toed ungulate family, Equidae. Its name comes from the carp-coin, which sounds like "kuwahaha." It is about 2 meters long, 60 cm long, and 1.3 to 1.4 meters tall. It closely resembles the plains zebra and is considered a subspecies, but there are records of the two species coexisting without mixing in some areas, so the prevailing theory is that they are separate species. The body is yellowish brown or chestnut brown, with white on the underside, limbs, neck, and tail, and the border between the two is clear. It has brown to dark brown horizontal stripes on the head, neck, and front of the body, and one dark brown vertical stripe on the back. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
