Kinokawa is an old town in the Naka district in northern Wakayama Prefecture. It is located in the middle reaches of the Kinokawa River, and its center is Nate, where the Wakayama Line runs. It produces a lot of mandarin oranges and Fuyu persimmons, and the Imori Copper Mine on Imoriyama, located at the southern end, produced copper, but closed in 1968. In November 2005, it merged with the towns of Uchida, Konagawa, Momoyama, and Kishigawa in Naka district to become a city, Kinokawa City. Area: 28.12 km2 .
