A haiku poet from the early Edo period. Konishi. Commonly known as Iemon. His other names were Mitsuhira, Jumando, Tantanou, Koji, Mirai Koji, etc. Born to a family of drug merchants in Osaka. He learned haiku from Maekawa Yoshihira, a disciple of Nishiyama Soin, and then became a direct disciple of Soin, composing haiku in the Danrin style, but in the Genroku period (1688-1704), he developed a haiku style closer to Shofu, focusing on quiet contemplation of nature. He also wrote many haiku about human relationships, was known for his fondness for alcohol, and had a bold and carefree personality, and was also active as a tribute to the popular miscellaneous haiku of the time. His edited works include "Osaka Hachigojuin" and "Imamiyagusa," and his memorial collections include "Konohagoma" and others.
