...the muscles of the pharynx work together to control swallowing. The pharynx is divided into three parts: the nasopharynx, the oropharynx, and the hypopharynx (Figure).
[Nasopharynx]
The part of the nasal cavity above the level of the palate is called the nasopharynx or nasopharynx, and contains the opening of the Eustachian tube that leads to the middle ear cavity.
