A town in Kako District, southern Hyogo Prefecture. Located in the eastern Harima Plain, it has extensive rice paddies irrigated by reservoirs, produces vegetables and flowers, and is also a popular greenhouse grower and poultry farmer. Its specialty is watermelon. Located close to the Harima coastal industrial zone, the town is seeing a rapid expansion of factories. Area: 34.92 km2 . Population: 31,026 (2010). 兵庫県南部，加古郡の町。播磨平野東部にあり，溜池灌漑(ためいけかんがい)による水田が広く，蔬菜，花卉(かき)も産し，野菜の温室栽培，養鶏も盛んで，スイカを特産。播磨臨海工業地帯を控え，工場進出も著しい。34.92km2。３万1026人（2010）。
