- At the age of 17, she went to New York to become a dancer. In 1979, she appeared in the adult film "A Certain Sacrifice". After that, she took vocal lessons in Paris, and after returning to Japan, she made her debut as a rock singer with "Everybody" in 1982. In 1984, her album "Like a Virgin" was a big hit, and she was called the "second coming of Marilyn Monroe" with her underwear-like costumes.
