Osaka

...A historical place name in the eastern part of Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture. It is also written as Osasaka or Onsaka, and is also called Osaka. The name Oshizaka-mura appears in the pre-accession period of Jinmu and the Suinin period of the Nihon Shoki, and the name Oshizaka-no-miya is found in the inscription on the Suda Hachiman Jinbutsu Eijikyo, one of the oldest epigraphic works.
