...After writing "Koueki Shinwa" in 1775 (An'ei 4), he became active as a writer of humorous stories, and by the end of the An'ei period (1780), he had become a central figure in the literary world due to his wide-ranging literary activities, leaving behind "Hentu Karuizawa" and several other excellent works. In 1781 (Tenmei 1), he attempted to criticize the emerging yellow-covered works in "Kikujusou" and the following year in "Okame Hachime," and he also wrote several works, such as "Koitsu wa Nitsubon," but he was not successful in this area. On the other hand, the competitive publication of "Manzai Kyokashu" edited by Akara and "Kyouka Wakabashu" edited by Tachibana in 1783 stimulated the start of a frenzy of popularity for kyoka. ...
