Ya'qūb b. Layth (English spelling)

...867-1495. It was founded by Ya'qūb bin Layth, a coppersmith (Saffar) of the same name, and was named after him. He was also the leader of the Ayyar clan, a group of knights, and with this power he gained independence from the Tahirid dynasty, seized its capital, Nishapur, and extended his influence to Kabul.
